• The editor area should also be dark. It is where we spend most of the time. You should make an option and let user decide if they want to switch from white background to dark background. Otherwise there isn’t much a difference.

  • Thanks for your feedback about this. Originally the reason we didn’t style the editor was because themes also have the option to use add_theme_support to enable editor styling which we didn’t want to overwrite.

    We may look into adding support for the editor though. However, we are looking into styling Gutenberg which is scheduled to land in version 5.0. You can track progress of the Gutenberg side of things here.

    Just to provide an update on this; the plan is to (until Gutenberg is merged into Core) style the TinyMCE editor so it matches the rest of the Dark Mode UI within the dashboard so you don’t have to rely on the theme support functions.
