• This is my last resort on finding any help with this template, before I abandon it.
I need to set up a portfolio home page, and the following list describes, the “simple” tasks that I need to do:

    1. Create a new page to serve as the homepage
    2. Assign the Portfolio Page Template from the Page Options section
    3. Publish your page
    4. Go to Customizer→ Static Front Page, and choose the new page as your site’s static “Front page”

    The problem is that

Assign the Portfolio Page Template from the Page Options section

    does not exist!

There is no dropdown for a custom template for the pages. nothing.
    What may be wrong here?

  • I’m having the same issue. I installed this theme because I wanted a separate home portfolio page and blog post page. I’m wondering if the WordPress Snaps page is just out of date, or if it’s only referring to wordpress.com pages.

Hey soosgyul, I think I found an easy work around. Here’s what I did:
    1. Create a page called “Home”
    2. Click “text” in the text editor to switch to plain text mode.
    3. Insert the shortcode [portfolio] to call all of your portfolio posts
    4. Create another page for blog posts if you want.
    5. Go to cusomizer and change the “home page” to #1
    6. Set a separate posts page if you want to (#4)

There’s also this article about customizing what portfolio items show up, and how they show up using attributes from the custom post type.

Here’s my site so far: malderman.com

Hope this helps! Or we figure out how to get it to work the right way.

    Cheers,

    Thanks Michael,

This gets me started. The whole portfolio thing seems awkward and not intuitive. I really miss the old NextGen plugin.
