NO Pre-selected shipping option

    Is it possible to not have a shipping option pre-selected?

    I have set up several options, such as standard delivery (at a cost), fast delivery (at a higher cost) and click and collect (no cost).

    By default it selects standard delivery which I thought was sensible, however I’m getting lots of people say that they selected click and collect yet it charged them a delivery. What most likely is happening is that they are leaving the pre-selected item of standard delivery and then moaning about not having changed to click and collect post order.

    If I can make it so no option is selected by default and they have to physically select an option, this should stop the issue I am having.

    Can we prevent woo from preselecting the first shipping option?

    Hi there,

    The shipping method that appears at the top in the shipping zone that matches your customer, will be the one that’s selected by default. You can rearrange their order of appearance in the shipping zone settings by clicking and dragging them via the hamburger menu.

    If you do not want anything to be selected by default, have a look at this answer on Stack Overflow that suggests snippets you can implement, either by adding it to your child theme’s functions.php or via a code snippets plugin.

    Thank you, the Stack snippets worked perfectly. My Google skills failed me on that occasion.
