  • I am having the same problem. I have been embedding PDFs for a few months now and all of a sudden they do not display. I get “no preview available” when I try to preview the page. When I post it, the viewer never loads and eventually errors “Navigation to the webpage was canceled” I tried it on IE11 and Chrom 41.0.2272.101 both had the same problem.

Anyone know what is going on?

    Thanks!

Please could you both paste links to working example pages showing this problem?

    Thanks,

    Hi Dan,

I checked my site again, did not change anything, and all of a sudden it’s working again? Did Google docs change something? Seems like others had the same problem and then all of a sudden it was corrected. Below is the link to my site.

I find that embedded PDFs sometimes display and sometimes they do not (only the download link shows but there is no “No preview available” message)
This is independent of the file size.

Thank you both for the updates.

The Google viewer is a third-party service so unfortunately you don’t have any control over its availability, or whether it may sometimes work or not…

To embed PDFs more consistently, you could try my PDF Embedder plugin that doesn’t rely on the availability of any third-party service:
