• I use JetPack on a number of public web-sites, but unfortunately it will not operate on private servers. I was very disappointed to learn the great plug-in I love cannot be used on my private server. “Your site host is on a private network. Jetpack can only connect to public sites.”

    Hi there,

You can enable Jetpack’s Development Mode and install it on a private server or on a local environment. Here’s how to set it up:

    https://jetpack.com/support/development-mode/

Please note that while in Development Mode, features that require a connection to WordPress.com will not be available.

Development mode disables all the features I use in JetPack – makes it very useless.

Since a connection to WordPress.com is needed to take advantage of all the Jetpack’s features your site needs to be publicly accessible. There’s no workaround for this.
