No product categories displaying

    Hi all,

    I’m building a new site and can’t get product categories to display on the shop page. I’ve enabled the option in settings (settings – products – display), however nothing comes up.

    I’ve reverted back to the 2017 theme for testing and the problem is still there. Plugins also all disabled. wooCommerce and WP both on the latest version.

    Am I missing a setting somewhere? Does anyone know what is going on?

    Hi, yes categories have products. I tried the code you just mentioned but there is no difference. Any thoughts on where I can go next to debug this?

    Couldn’t see anything wrong.

    Try “Recount terms” at:
    Dashboard > WooCommerce > System Status > Tools.

    It does sound like something is being cached somewhere. If you still have the problem, clear the transients as well by clicking the buttons on that page.

    Thanks, I’ve just tried that again but the page is still the same. Any other ideas?

    Your shop page’s body tag classes don’t have any of the usual WooCommerce shop page classes, such as: “archive post-type-archive post-type-archive-product woocommerce woocommerce-page” which makes me think that WooCommerce does not know that this page is your shop page.

    At: Dashboard > WooCommerce > Settings > Products tab > Display sub-page, ensure the page selected at the Shop page drop-down is this particular shop page. There seems to be another shop page at https://www.whatsheree.com.au/shop/, so make sure its the right one. Empty the pages bin to be sure. Then check the body tag classes. If you find the right body classes, return to setting show categories at the “Shop page displays” drop-down.

    Thanks, that did the trick. I deleted the Shop page and then told woocommerce to re-create it.
