No registration email being sent

    Hello

    I have been building this site and naturally have been testing all parts out. The issue is that when i register as a new user, no registration email is being sent.

    I have tried a couple of user names with different email addresses with no luck.

    I searched the support forums and similar issues are here but seem to relate to specific plugins.
    I do have a plugin to change the look of the register/login page, so i disabled it and tried to register. Again, no email sent.

    So i googled it and found someone had said that their issue was because of the admin email address on the WP site being his personal email and not an email set up on the domain. So i changed from my hotmail address to the email we have set up on the site (it is @perthtrueblues.co.uk) but this time, i have not received a confirmation email at the perthtrueblues email address to confirm the change. no email received at my hotmail address either.

    when i register as a new user, no registration email is being sent.

    Are you the admin?
    Are you registering as the admin?

    If so try registering with non-admin email and name.

    This can mean that the website hosting does not have sending email configured, this is often the case using localhost setups.
    Can the website send emails at all ? Under any circumstances ? If not then suggest that you ask your website hosting support about how to configure sending emails.

    t-p as i said in my post, i have tried different user names and emails, i think that answers your questions?! if not, i’m not sure what you mean by ‘registering as admin’ if the site is already set up?

    Thank you Ross, i found another bit of info after i posted this about entering smtp and port details, etc. i tried setting it up and sending a test email, but my site timed out.
    not sure if this means i did it wrong or not.

    i will get in touch with the hosts and see what they have to say about it.

    i’ve managed to fix this issue using sendgrid and wp mail smtp plugin! thanks
