I would like to be able to have quiz questions with no right answer. I am doing courses for people to learn about themselves. While essay questions are generally okay for this, they are a bit too open ended in some cases where a concise answer is preferred, especially when conflicting ideas are presented inconclusively.

Example: “What do you value more?” Answers could be freedom, security, comfort, or wealth.

I could use H5P in a shortcode, but the lack of integration without programming is really prohibitive on questionnaire type questions. The answer is not stored in any way that would be helpful for the user, since Sensei LMS doesn’t act as an Learning Record Store (LRS) for this type of question.

      1. Do you know of a way I could make the quiz questions more like an opinion or survey question?
      2. Do you know how I could reward points for participation vs. the right answer?
      3. Do you have any plan for personality type quizes?

I know some light PHP/MySQL/HTML/CSS/JS if you need to direct me to your documentation. I am by no means a programming ninja or even an intermediate, but adding code to functions.php is up my alley.

  • Hi @thedevinroy ,

    Thanks for reaching out!

We don’t currently have a way to do this; as you mention, the essay type would be the likeliest workaround for now.

That said, our developers are digging into overhauling the quiz system and collecting requests for different question types, so I’ve added this request here:

You can certainly add to the conversation there, and that’s the best place to look for any updates.

We definitely don’t have a way to do this built-in, although I may be imagining something you’re not. Do you mean they should be ‘scored’ for their answer (regardless of what it is) or something else?

    Best,
    Cena
