No roles available for adding users on multisite

    More digging. Found that when creating the subsite, the OPTIONS table did not contain wp_XX_user_roles.
    I copied that from another subsite, changed XX to the ID of the subsite and inserted into the DB. Thought that would do the trick, but nothing has changed.

    Is there something else I need to do when inserting a record in PHPMYADMIN?

    Does the option_id number in the table have to be set to something exact?

    Turns out there was some type of corruption or permissions error that prevented the creation of the wp_xx_userroles row in the options tables where xx is the ID of the child site. I have to manually create this row and populate the serialized data using a copy of a properly working subsite.
