Hi, After reading so many positive stories about your plugin. I installed it and everything seemed to go well. The Category page opens Links on the links page. However, the Search box does not give any result. Even though I have added tags to all links. How do I get the search box to appear in one row, like in the instruction video? I tried to put the library in a flex box to change the layout a bit, but this does not work. Can it only be done with css? Is there a way to import all the tags from word press? Does Yoast plugin interfere with Link Library? Thanks in advance for your good work and time ??

The page I need help with: [log in to see the link]

  • Hi @dandreas ??

I am just a user like you, but for the search results, I think you can add shortcode for all links (below) and then the search results will display too.

    [link-library settings="1" linkorderoverride="pubdate"]

    Hi @photomaldives ??

Thanks for reaching out. I tried to reproduce your suggestion, but it did not work. What odd is that when a search is done on a category links page, the search is done within that category.

Oh yes, I see. I don’t have mine set up like that. There are a lot of different options in the backend, if you want to experiment, but it can be quite complicated.

The plugin author will apparently be back in a few days.

Thanks for clarifying that and for your update about the author. I will leave it for now and work in something else.

I solved it with a work around. My configuration is a category page and a links page. On both pages I had installed the search box with the short code, but this didn’t work. Only if I use the link library block it will work and only on the links page. So, now on my category page I made a link to my links page, so my visitors can search if they want. It’s not ideal, but it at least it works. I noticed that the search box works very well for some search terms and not at all for others. Is it self learning? Will it get better? Here is my category page and here is my links page.

    Good news !

    • Self learning? No, I doubt it. I have not noticed this, and it even searches the URLs ! Can you give an example ? (Maybe there is a minimum word-length?)

Hi, Thanks for your feedback. I tried several search terms, most of which are tags too, such as: parenting plan, child support, usa, law, custody,

Sometimes it gives one or two results, while I now there are many more.

What’s with the text color? Isn’t it readable enough? Should it be brighter?

Text is almost invisible – look closely to see in dark blue “search results …”

On your page, I searched simply for the word ‘thrive’ which appears in one of your links, and the search does not find it. Strange.

On my page, I can see that:

    • searches for 3 letter words seem to work OK.
    • searching for a category name does not work.
    • (I don’t use tags, so cannot test).

Right, that blue text appears if there are no results. I should do something about it. I was too focused on getting it fixed. Thanks for pointing that out.

I tried your search page. It looks very nice and practical. Great job!

Another thing which I find strange is if I go to the link page from the category page, that the search box will only search within that category and not in the whole data base. The Search box only works from the links page.

I tried different setting for the category target page and the link page, but it does not have any effect.
