I have been testing your Ajax Search Lite and I like it very much. I have placed Search Lite in a dropdown menu of the website’s main menu and that works very well on desktop. I have one major issue on mobile, though.

On my iPhone the Search function is not being recognized by the device. Normally, when I use a Search on a phone, after I enter the text the “Return” key on the keyboard turns into a “Go” or a “Search” key. This is not happening. And when I do press “Return”, it simply refreshes the page I am on and closes the menu.

I tested your Lite demo and it displays results immediately without me even having to press Return or Go! https://lite.ajaxsearchpro.com/

    Thank you,
    Dora

    Hi Dora,

This sounds like a 3rd party script conflict, which are usually extremely hard to debug and resolve. Some menus use a ‘cloning’ method to display a different layout on both mobile and desktop devices. Usually the mobile menu is sort of a carbon copy of the desktop search output. These are very problematic solutions, fortunately most menu authors use different aproaches now. While there is a bypass implemented into the plugin to try to detect this unwanted behavior, in some cases it may not work.
If you can share a URL to the page where this occurs, I will check it out and try to suggest a possible solution via custom code if possible.

    Best,

I apologize for the missing url. I did enter one in the hidden url section of the original post, but I now see that it did not post. I will post it here, where you should definitely be able to see it. The situation occurs on the entire site, as the Search is in the main menu. https://www.staging2.ebdesign.com/

Thank you for looking into this!

If the issue of the Search not working in mobile for this website cannot be resolved, I am wondering if the Pro Compact style, placed on the side of the pages rather than in the menu, will potentially have less conflicts with mobile?

I have purchased the Pro version and will continue working with the developer in Pro Support for a non-menu setup. Closing this and marking as resolved.
