    Hi there ??
I’m rebuilding my website and I Was searching a plugin to have on different line the author and the title (for poems).
I found your plugins and I believe to have the right solution ??
But, after the install, I’ve the secondary title field in which I can put the poems title, but I don’t have any settings to setup: in WP settings I don’t have any Secondary Title choice.
I’m not a developer and I’m working with Elementor Pro to rebuild my website, and I’m creating the template for the Customs post type but I do not know what ID “secondary title” has and how Themer can see it.

    Can you help me?
    Thanks so much
    Lio

I’ve the last plugin version and I’m working in localhost based on Astra theme free.

    Hi @liosite,

Thanks for reporting your problem here.

Could it be that you or a plugin accidentally deactivated Secondary Title? Please make sure the plugin is active.

If you still see no “Secondary Title” menu entry under “Settings” in the dashboard, it could be that your site has too many menu items registered. I don’t know for sure, but I believe exceeding the menu item limit will just make them not visible.

So, if you don’t see it, the only way to get to the settings page is by direct URL. Try this:

    wp-admin/options-general.php?page=secondary-title

If you receive “Permission denied” or something similar, it’s a whole different story.

    Please report back.

    Thanks for the reply ??
The plugin is active and I also tried to reinstall it.
I tried the old version (1.9.2) I have in another website (with Beaver Builder and in local too) and where I’ve the regular option for Secondary title menu under settings.
The old plugin in this website (that is the same identical but built with Elementor) has the same problem than the new one: it doesn’t appear under settings, but it’s present as field.
The difference between the two version of the same site are in the builder (Elementor VS Beaver Builder) and the theme (Astra child VS Beaver Builder child theme), otherwise they are the same.
By “too many menu” do you mean those created by other plugins?
In the local site where Secondary Title is working and has the regular menu there are the same CPT (3) and 4 plugins (with menu) for Beaver Builder.
In the other local site where I can’t see the menu, there are the same CPT and 7 plugins (with menu).
I tried as you suggest using the link for

    //localhost/Liosite-ele2/wp-admin/options-general.php?page=secondary-title

and I can see the page for setting up the plugin!
I can try now to work with it …
And I hope to succeed in my idea to have on different line the author and the poem’s title.
Sorry for my English, it’s not my native language and at my age (I’m old … 75) it’s really hard to learn how to make a website when every explanation is only in English ??
I’ll create a link to my ghost setting page ??
    Thanks a lot

Yes, exactly. It might be the same with enqueued CSS or JS files: If there are too many, it just won’t load. Have you tried deactivating one or two unrelated plugins that have a menu item to see if that solves it?

If that doesn’t solve it, it must be caused by the theme and Elementor. There’s very little I can do there. Sorry!

By the way, glad to see people at an older age getting interested in websites ?? Keep going. And if you have any questions, just ask, the WP community is friendly. You can also send me an email ([email protected]) if you have a specific problem.

Thanks so much for your reply.
It’s not a big problem to create a link for a ghost setting page and, after all, one setting all done ??
I tried to deactivate plugin that I’m just trying, but nothing change.
On the contrary, with the most part deactivated, I had this reply:

Sorry, you are not allowed to access this page.

So, better than nothing, I’ll settle for the ghost link ??

Thanks again and keep coding (it will be what I will do in my next life ?? )

As a developer and perfectionist, this almost drives me crazy lol. I’ll keep this issue in my memory and maybe future versions can fix it.

Glad you like the plugin. If you like, you can also rate it ??
