  • Rene, I sent the exported xml file to support.

    Rene, exact same issue here. Tested everything but nope, not working. Something may be wrong on your end.

    Let us know.

    Thanks

    Same issue here. Facebook shares are not being counted for the past week despite 3.1.7 upgrade, using Mashengine, and clearing caches

    I’ve newly installed this plugin on a site and same problem as above. Facebook is not included in the custom field.

    Is there an ETC on a fix or any update happening?

    Thanks!

    @christopher Glaeser

    data from some post
    {“total”:4355,”linkedin”:0,”buffer”:0,”pinterest”:0,”google”:0,”twitter”:0,”facebook_total”:4355,”stumbleupon”:0}

    weird is somepost not count or show at all
    {“total”:0,”buffer”:0,”linkedin”:0,”pinterest”:0,”twitter”:0,”google”:0,”stumbleupon”:0}

    hope issue can fix soon

    @attapon.tom, I believe all of my posts are correct except the one that was published after the upgrade to 3.1.7. I think that explains why some posts are correct and others are not.

    Are you guys using cloudflare or any other proxy?

    We are trying hard to debug this and will have highly likely a solution soon.

    My site is not using cloudflare or other proxy.

    My site is hosted on wpengine. CDN is not enabled.

    @rene, did you make any changes? I checked my site just now. The custom field is now correct.

    {“total”:317,”pinterest”:0,”buffer”:0,”facebook_total”:290,”google”:0,”linkedin”:10,”stumbleupon”:0,”twitter”:17,”vk”:0}

    Notice that facebook_total is now included in the share count.

    No we did not changed anything Christopher. I have the assumption that the new facebook API endpoint is limited to api calls more restrictive than the old one was before.

    So sometimes when your site hits one of these limits the api calls are rejected. We are now trying to verify that.

    We probably have a solution for this as well. so hopefully we will be the first Social Media Plugin which is able to bypass that issue very soon.

    This topic to solve is on our first priority.

    Ok Rene I just emailed you the results of the debug. I think you are onto something with the facebook API limit. This morning our share count was closer to normal but as soon as I purged the cache it dropped down to simply 5 shares and would not recalculate.

    Thanks for looking into this.

    Howdy,

    do not purge the cache it will hurt your share count more than it does well.
    Just wait until some time the counter will increase as usual but delayed.

    The issue is caused by facebook API limits which were hit by your site.

    But i am glad to tell you that today we release a new plugin which fixes that.

    I suppose we are the first social media plugin that is already aware of that issue because you guys have detected it so early. So thanks for the good catch!

    I am also proud to say that MashShare will be the first plugin that is able to resolve that issue. All other plugins will probably copy our technical solution, but we will see:)

    Hey guys, please check out latest version and use the new facebook connect option in network setting.

    Cheers

    Hey Rene,

    So the design changed a bit since I entered the token. Icons are smaller and number of shares as well.

    Now, It’s still not showing the shares but maybe I need to wait a bit? I have purged my cache. But nothing yet.

    Thanks
