    Hi together,

well, this is a very specific question I guess ;-). We have a problem at our self-hosted blog with social share buttons. We use the template \”Harmonic\” and made some modifications to it to match our needs. Also we\’ve installed the plugin \”socialsharebuttons\”.

When you click on a social share link, the popups are blocked by the browser (especially on mobile devices). If we change the template to another one (i.e. twentyfifteen) there is no problem in opening other share-windows. But when we switch back to the \”harmonic\” template the popups are blocked again.

We contacted the producer of the sharebuttons-plugin and he took a look. Within his plugin, everything was ok so it has to depend on the template.

But unfortunately I don\’t see an error.

Would be great if anyone can post a hint. If you want to take a look: hsv24.mopo.de

    Cheers
    Marc

I’m not having any trouble with your sharing buttons in Firefox, even with the browser window made smaller to simulate a mobile device. They also seem to work fine in my iPhone simulator.

Could you let me know specificically which device, OS, and browser you’re having trouble in?

To be clear, I’m not getting a popup, the sharing screen opens in a new browser tab/window. Is this the issue?

Can you provide a link the plugin support thread so I can see exactly what the developer said?

Could you also provide a link to the plugin itself?

    Hi Kathryn,
thanks for your answer. I solved the problem yesterday. I just changed a line of js-code in the plugin. There was a window.open which was blocked by the browsers.
    No everything works fine.

    Best,
    Marc
