Hi to all WooCommerce enthousiasts! Hope you are willing to help me out with my beginner questions.
I’m building a website to promote several products. There is no use for a webshop yet, as we sell our products through a dealer network, but we might consider a webshop in the far future.

I thought to start out in WooCommerce, but I’m a bit dazzled with all the options and settings. Am I doing the right thing wanting to start out in WooCommerce although we won’t be selling online anytime soon?

I did install and next question that comes to mind: Is Jetpack required for WooCommerce to work even though we’re not a real webshop, merely a catalogue with all options except the cart and check-out procedures?

  • Yes, WooCommerce may seem overwhelming at first but it is a great solution! Please read the documentation as needed and ask questions on the forum.

No. Jetpack is not required for your site. Please review all of the features and decide if its appropriate. It has a lot of options but it is not required.

    Hey there,

To add a bit more information, I recommend our WooCommerce Getting Started Documentation.

You’re also always welcome to ask questions here if you need a bit of help.

Thanks to both of you! I already decided to give it a go, read the documentation and chosen not to install Jetpack. I even added 3 products and added extra information tabs ??

I’m so glad to hear it! ?? WooCommerce definitely has a learning curve, but the best way to figure it out is to jump in and try it.

    Best of luck further!
