    – Cannot get sidebar enabled on pages (homes page is no sidebar)
    – cannot get footer widgets to display.
    Disabled all plugins 1×1 to test (all are still disabled)
    – Lite Documentation is where? Can’t find it anywhere and maybe it’s right in front of my face but so far no luck. I located Lite Documentation for another ThinkUpTheme (Engrave) and if that is what the documentation is like then it’s not really worth having.

    Pretty frustrated at this point having spent several hours already and it looks like I will not be able to use this theme.
    {Edit} – Initially had issues with setting the home page up for static presentation with the blog page designated as a news page (I want bring in the blog posts in a footer widget) Looks like I might have it running ok, right now so I edited my post to reflect that {close Edit}

    Dear ThinkUpThemes – I’ve searched the support forums several time and have found other people having similar issues. I never buy a ‘pro’ theme until I’ve tested out the free; Right now I’m not sure I’ll go that route because I can’t even get the sidebar to show up.

    BTW, I changed the footer.php (yah I know, I have to do child theme – I saved a copy of the original footer.php) because the website isn’t, IMHO, “developed” by ThinkUpThemes. The theme – yes so that credit is there. But there is quite a bit more that goes into the site than just the theme including plugins and other design aspects.

    These are just a couple of the issues I’m running into and if I sound cranky – I am a bit. I was hoping to have this mostly done by end of day today but if I can’t get even the sidebar up…………

    PS, am testing out on two different platforms, 3 screens, MSIE, Firefox and Chrome. Sorry, forgot to add that. Latest versions of browsers. Microsoft 7 & 8 (ugh – cannot wait for 10 with crossed fingers) All Display the same which is a good thing – just wish I could get the sidebar and footer widgets to work

    I was having the same issue as you Shelley with the Footers. I stopped editing with IE, and edited and saved the widgets and footers using Firefox. All of a sudden they started working.

    I can browse the site using IE, but I just don’t edit with it any more.

    Just an option, but it may work for you.

    Good Luck.

    Dear Steve

    Thank you! I really appreciate you taking the time to answer this. I will give that a try. Yes I am editing in IE – mainly because that is the main platform I work on but I check the sites in a number of platforms & browsers.

    I will give that a try today to see if that fixes my issues. Unfortunately I’m likely to be moving on to a different theme – have been testing one out for the past couple of days and will probably be loading that up today or tomorrow. Before I do tho, I will test this out so I can follow up back here.

    thanks again!

    Steve! That was the answer!

    What the heck is up with MSIE and this theme? I’ve never run across this problem before and I’ve installed quite a few wordpress themes. Cache was emptied too!

    Anyway, I will consider this topic as solved/closed and thank you again for your help. Really, really appreciate you taking the time to help out on this.

    { rant: It appears that no one from ThinkUp Themes saw my post or had the time to respond. (Did I give them enough time – I thought so) Shame – because I have no problem purchasing a pro theme after testing out the free version. But I want to see how that free version translates and performs….. first. /end rant }

    Anyway, putting the crabbiness away.

    I’m still working on another theme but I wanted to sort out this problem. I used Chrome and went back through the options to save again and that did the trick. I’m having issues with plugins and icons not displaying correctly now but that’s another story ??

    cheers!

    PS – I still have no idea where the ‘lite’ documentation can be found.

    Hi Shelley,

    I’m really glad it worked for you. Like I said, I ran into almost the exact issue. I, like you, nearly always edit and use MSIE.

    Anyway, good luck with whatever theme you choose.

    Steve
