• I’m new to using WordPress. When I go to write or edit a post the page loads very slow and when it does the a message shows “Done with error” showing at bottom left of my browser, and I see no sign of a rich text editor (I just see a plain white text box with no ability to change font size, boldness, ect).

I assume my Rich Visual Text editor did not load and giving this error message on my browser.

I have done some research on past posting about similar problem and have tried my User tab and enable the Rich Visual Text editor and also enable it from the Option/writing menu.

I tried CTRL+F5 in text editor area.

    Still not working.

    How do I solve this?
Is this wordpress problem or my web hosting?

    Help needed.

    Thanks.

  • Hmm..is the Javascript enabled for your browser? If so, I’m not really sure.. except to maybe double check if the
    wp-includes/js/

Files/folders are correctly uploaded..and chmodded correctly and such maybe…

    Folders chmod: 755
    Files chmod: 644

What OS and browser are we using?

I’m using WinXP Pro service pack 2 and using internet explorer.

My PC is not the problem I guess, because I have my WordPress install an running on my PC localhost.

Everything was fine when editing offline.

It just didn’t work when I upload on the hosting server.

    hi, spencerp.

My browser does support Java, an I check that I did upload folder wp-includes/js/ correctly.

    What is …?
    Folders chmod: 755
    Files chmod: 644

How do I check on this?

    Thanks.

Well, when I use WS_FTP95 as my FTP client.. I select the Folder that needs to be chmodded as such: Click on it to highlight it, right click then to see as such here:
    https://www.vindictivebastard.net/images2/select-folder-to-chmod.gif

Scroll down to Chmod (unix), click Ok

Then to Chmod the folder 755, put check marks into the boxes like in this image, then click Ok:
    https://www.vindictivebastard.net/images2/chmod-755.gif

Same way for the files, Click on one to highlight it, then hold the CTRL button, drag arrow downwards to highlight many at a time.. then, put/ make sure the check marks as such in this window, then click Ok.

    I hope this helps..
