No site after updating to Version 3.6

Plugin problem. FTP into your site and rename your plugins folder. I usually just insert some numbers. Something like:

Home > public_html > wp-content > plu888gins >

Your actually path may look different, but renaming the plugins folder will break the connections and WordPress will just think that you don’t have any plugins. Reload your site and you should be able to get it. Once you are back in, you can change the name back to plugins and update to 3.6. After you’ve updated, then you can go back and enable plugins one at a time to figure out which one is the problem child.

I’m getting an error code 500 when trying to visit using Chrome. Do you have ftp access? If so, you might try to delete the plugins to see if you can access the site.

Did you also try the things that were in the link that I sent like reuploading core files?

Hi graphica_force, I have tryed the “Checking for Corrupt .htaccess File” and “Increasing the PHP Memory Limit” with no joy. I will attempt to re-upload core files, just trying to find the info or some instructions

I have now re-uploaded the core files wp-admin and wp-includes folder versions 3.5.2 and 3.6. Still showing a blank white screen! any other suggestions? Thanks

Disable your custom theme and use a WordPress default theme (Twentytwelve) to see if the custom theme is the thing causing the issue.

Problem solved! Thank you for all your suggestions. I disabled my current theme by changing its name via FTP which gave me access to the admin panel. I came to the conclusion that my custom theme didn’t work with wordpress 3.6. So i then tried downgrading to 3.5.2 which didn’t work and the 3.5.1 which did!!!

Are you aware that 3.5.1 has security vulnerabilities that were fixed in 3.5.2? You really shouldn’t run an outdated version – as your risk of getting hacked is increased.
