same here. Solution: revert to 3.0.7 for now

For me it’s not a conflict: it’s new code. I did test disabling other plugins like permalink with the same result.

I am new to WP plugins, how do I revert back to an old version of the plugin?

Very easy:

go to /wp-content/plugins by ftp by example
delete all in wordpress-seo folder and upload all older files.

I also reverted to 3.0.7, as wasn’t able to fix the issue in the latest version.

I haven’t tested this, but if this worked for you, then by it’s very nature, there is a problem with one or more of the JS files that are loading. The question is whether the problem lies in the Yoast JS files or the other plugin JS files. Basically, that line of code tells Wp to load all scripts, individually (rather than collectively), even if one or more of them fails to load properly.

Thanks Wojtekk. I went to the Yoast Plugin and there was a rollback option which allowed me to rollback to version 3.0.7. Now my meta description is updating, thanks for all the help; love this forum.

For anyone looking to rollback to Yoast SEO ver 3.0.7 you can use this plugin to rollback or forward to any version of a plugin like a BOSS!

You can also put the metadescription directly into your database. Just find the posts id and add a metadescription to the meta table.

You can manaully add the meta description to your database. So, you don’t have to roll back. I described the procedure on my blog: https://www.insight-things.com/yoast-metadescription-workaround

This would be just a work around, much like using the bulk edit tool within Yoast (which I find easier, for now). Still hoping for a fix from the devs.
