I’ve installed a certificate with WP Encrypt. It provides the certificate and key locations. But Really Simple SSL says “No SSL Detected.”

    Qualys SSL Labs says:
Try these other domain names (extracted from the certificates):
    hostmonster.com
    *.hostmonster.com

I don’t have certificates through Hostmonster. Does this mean Hostmonster is blocking me from having a certificate from WP Encrypt?

    Hi Mike,

It is not necessarily that Hostmonster is blocking you. The issue is that the certificate is using the wrong domain name. You can fix this by getting a certificate with the right domain name. If WP Encrypt is using the wrong domain you can try to request one manually.

Rogier — It turns out they are blocking my SSL certificate.

I do have that certificate registered to my domain name, but last night, I checked the Hostmonster site to read about 3rd party SSL certificates and Hostmonster. Then I called them to confirm it.

Hostmonster will not allow the use of 3rd party (or even their own) SSL certificates unless the site is on a dedicated IP address. If i get the dedicated IP address ($78/year) that should open it up and WP Encrypt and Really Simple SSL should work.

It appears you will need to ask people who they use for web hosting — and if it is Hostmonster, the answer is “You have to get a Dedicated IP Address.”
