• Hi, I apologize if this has been answered elsewhere but I have been unable to find a full solution to my specific problem. I am using Benevolent Theme with polylang plugin and created a child theme. There are several fields in the Homepage section that do not appear in the child theme’s string translations. When I revert to the original theme and enter info in these fields, the strings appear (and incidentally stay once I reactivate the child theme but are ineffective)

Is there any way to get the string translations to recognize the child theme’s group as it does the original theme?

    Many thanks!
    Nathan

    Hello,

As far I understand your parent theme Benevolent Pro is multilingual ready since you see its strings into the Polylang Strings translations. I see that they provide a documentation about that: https://rarathemes.com/blog/multilingual-wordpress-website-polylang/
You should contact the Benevolent Pro authors to see with them how to get the String translations to recognize your child theme’s group as it does with the original theme.

    Thank you Chrystl,
Its true that Benevolent Pro is polylang compatible and I reached out to the Benevolent team who confirmed that their theme is not compatible with polylang when using child themes. I was hoping there might be a workaround out there. Their support is quite good so I guess I must just use their original theme in the end.
    Thanks again!
