Hello, though all settings seem to be correct, there is nothing at all shown on our checkout page. Current setting is “before order notes”, but it is not working with any other setting too. “Let customer unsubscribe through checkbout page” is set too.

    Does this plugin still work?

Also, can we add newsletter control to the WooCommerce account pages?
Or is there any other plugin which can do that?

    Using: Add-on WooCommerce MailPoet 3 Version 1.1.2
    WooCommerce Version 3.5.7
    MailPoet 3 (New) Version 3.23.1

The page I need help with: [log in to see the link]

  • Hello,

We are looking into this issue.

    Thank you

    Hello,

The subscription option doesn’t show if an user is already subscribed. You/admin already subscribed to mailpoet thus the subscription option doesn’t show in the checkout page.

Currently this plugin only works in checkout page. It doesn’t work in account page.

    Thank you

Oh yes, indeed! The Subscribe to Newsletter section is shown when the user is not subscribed to any list.

However, in that case, both options “Subscribe” and “Unsubscribe” are shown.

It would make sense to show the “Unsubscribe” option (only) to users who are subscribed to any newsletter.

However, all our WooCommerce customer accounts are automatically added to the list “WordPress users”. So they don’t see the subscribe option for our regular newsletter.

    Hello,

We will remove unsubscribe option for non subscriber in our next release. Thanks for pointing out.

Mailpoet automatically subscribe new users under WordPress Users/WooCommerce Customers. If you don’t want that, you can follow this fix

    Thank you.

Thanks for this suggestion! But in fact, we don’t care for the WP Users list – we will only use our own newsletter list in MailPoet. As you pointed out, adding shop users to that list is normal behavour in WooCommerce.

The problem is: Our customers usually register before they place their first order (we ask them to). So they are already subscribed to WP Users when they go to the cart page, and they will not see the Subscription option.

    Hello,

We updated the plugin and fix the issues.

    Thanks

    Sorry for my late reply!

I just checked this. My test user is always seeing the subscribe to newsletter option, whether or not he already is subscribed.

“Display Unsubscribe option” is on in settings.
The test user is subscribed to “WordPress Users” and our list, and he has opted in.

Users will always see the subscription form whether they already subscribed or not. Even if the user is in “WordPress Users” list and didn’t subscribe to other lists, he/she will see the subscription form. That’s the default behavior of the mailpoet’s subscription form. Your user might subscribe to another list, so there is no point of hiding the subscription form to the registered users.

“Display Unsubscribe option” shows an unsubscribe checkbox that allows subscriber to unsubscribe within that page.

Hi. In our case, there is only 1 list enabled to subscribe to, so it does not make sense to show the subscribe option when the user is subscribed.

However, my subscribed test user does not see the unsubscribe option here! Only the subscribe option is shown.
The unsubscribe option should appear directly below the subscribe option, correct?

The unsubscribe option ONLY appears when an user is subscribed to a list and CONFIRMED the subscription (if double opt in is checked). In your case, your test user doesn’t belong to any lists other than “WordPress User”. All users belong to “WordPress User” list by default and there is no way to unsubscribe from that list. So unsubscribe option is hidden.

The test user has subscribed and confirmed double opt in to our list, but still he does only see the subscribe to newsletter option, not the unsubscribe option.
