No thumbnail when I cache locally

That’s a known issue at Cloudways I’m afraid, can you try the code snippet at https://www.ads-software.com/support/topic/local-thumbnails-caching-not-working/#post-12075411 as a workraound?

Added this using a code snippet plugin and it didn’t work for me, but I’ll send it to my wordpress support person and see if they can make this work. Thanks!

ah, but I’m getting a 403 forbidden from https://killerguitarrigs.com/wp-content/plugins/wp-youtube-lyte/lyteCache.php?origThumbUrl=https%3A%2F%2Fi.ytimg.com%2Fvi%2F9n6qSjfvRn0%2Fhqdefault.jpg, so that might also be a security measure (some security components block direct requests to .php files in wp-content/plugins/*

Add this to exclude in your varnish settings in the Cloudways dashboard.

/wp-content/plugins/wp-youtube-lyte/lyteCache.php

I was having problems again, so I was checking here for support. I then realized if you turn off Cloudways new option “direct php file access” the thumbnails will not work again. So you also have to keep PHP file access enabled.

Hey guys so I added the snippet, and updated the varnish setting and it still wasn’t working, so I reached out to Cloudways support and they got it working – I asked what he did and he said “I enabled the PHP direct file access for you from Application Settings”. So whatever combination of all of the above did the trick, it’s now working. Huzzah!

Do I need to change Wordfence settings or htaccess?

Can’t say for sure, it can be both (or something else, see Cloudways “PHP direct file access” mentioned above for example) so you’ll have to check which applies to you tungstene2
