Hi, I’m trying this plugin with Localhost and I’m trying to change the translations (English), but the changes I make in the file:

    \wp-content\languages\plugins\yet-another-stars-rating-en_ES.po
    and
    \wp-content\plugins\yet-another-stars-rating\languages\yet-another-stars-rating-es_ES.po

do not see the changes in the Front-end.

    Hello!

That’s because WordPress gets the translations from here
    https://translate.www.ads-software.com/projects/wp-plugins/yet-another-stars-rating/

I keep that dir because sometimes users send me the .po file with email, then I upload in /languages dir and in 24h translate.www.ads-software.com take the new translations from the .po file

    I hope it’s clear ??

    Best,
    Dario

Hello, thank you for your answer.

I’m sorry, but I don’t understand. I need to change some phrases of the Spanish language. What I do is take the .po file (yet-another-stars-rating-es_ES.po) and make the change from that file, but in the Front-end you don’t see the change.

As I said, all the translation strings are taken from here

    https://translate.www.ads-software.com/locale/es/default/wp-plugins/yet-another-stars-rating/

Just ignore the po file, changes will no have effect.

maybe @fernandot can help to explain this better

    Pinged! ??

    Hi @dimared

The plugin is 100% translated, but sometimes the translations are available to update some minutes after the plugin installation

Also, it’s possible an issue with caches (server, plugin, browser), that don’t show the latest updates, only the cached pages.

If you want to override the “official” translations you should download the po and mo files from glotpress.www.ads-software.com and create your own translations and upload them to the languages folder of the plugin. But you must be aware that every update of the plugin will write the curren folders and could delete your translations. You’ll have to upload it again after every plugin update.

Thank you @dudo and @fernandot, now I understand. I didn’t know the translation system. In the end, I need to translate some lines for my needs, so I’ll back up the translations.

@dudo in a few days I will go through Reviews section, to leave my qualification. Thanks for the excellent plugin.
