    Hello everyone.

I manage a client’s website created by another person about 4 years ago. The developer installed Impreza theme and, apparently, it hasn’t been updated since then. The thing is: I cannnot see any update links for this theme, even if the active version is 4.1.1. (the last Impreza version is 7), thus I’m sure there is an update available.

Since I didn’t create it, I havent purchased the active theme, Impreza, so I cannot ask them for support.

Should I buy a new theme so that I can have the last version?

I would really appreciatte any answers

  • Yes, you should buy the theme to stay up to date with the theme versions. Themeforest themes only send a notification through email to the buyers of the theme on every update.

I am not sure but You need to manually update the theme. Most of the theme doesn’t provide auto-updates.

    Hey @juanprobando,

I believe that the theme would have some kind of licensing in it that is not been activated and hence stopping the updates.

If you really want the update, either get a hold of the older license code and activate it or else as you mentioned, buy a new one and then activate & update the theme.

Also, since it is a paid theme, you should get in contact with the theme’s developer/author for them to advise on the best steps ahead.

    Hi there @ashwin.parthasarathi

Yes, the theme license is not activated yet though the theme is active and working. I’ve asked the developer of the website for the license number. If I active the license, I guess it will be possible to get updates in the future.

If it doesn’t work, I guess I will hace to buy the theme in order to have complete control of it.

You have understood it right @juanprobando.

And since you have a solution at hand and this is not an issue with the WordPress core or a free plugin or theme from the WordPress repository, we would request you to mark the issue as resolved so that this helps our volunteers find the topics that still need attention and more people will get helped, possibly like you did.

Sure! It’s been solved: Once the original creator of the web activated the license, we saw the link to update the template here in our backoffice.

    Thank you guys!
