No way to import more than 100MB

This is a scam

How is this a scam? Why do folks use that word so lightly. This is a great plugin with thousands of 5 star reviews. I personally love it. Why leave a fake review like this, folks work hard on these plugins.
I agree completely with papashivo All-In-One WP Migration was the best migration plugin many years ago when I was desperately searching for a migration plugin that actually worked for WordPress websites. I literally spent hundreds of hours trying to move my 100s of WordPress websites to a new server. Well not only did AIO Wp Migration do this but much much more. Now this plugin will backup a website on a domain name and you can restore that backup to another domain name. EXAMPLE backup a.com using this plugin and restore that backup to z.com, it works perfectly even deeply embedded files and your database gets migrated to the new domain name. Not to mention auto backups to Drive and the like that actually work. In my eyes these developers are GODS!
“How is this a scam?” – Simple, you cannot install this plugin and migrate a wordpress website if you have more than 100MB site. This means that if you did not compress your images you are looking at a site with less than 50 images.
I literally created a website got the design finalized and the client decided they want to have the domain name changed. After spending many hours doing odds and ends to meet customer’s demands I did not want to redo that just do to domain change.
This plugin makes you believe it will work for free, and after installing it and doing a backup, I am prompted with:
“you wasted your time, because surprise 100MB is the limit, unless you pay me.”
Now you could say that it didn’t take that much time, but some people might be short on time, thus scamming people out of money.
If the plugin notes were honest and the author didn’t lie to the one review saying you can do more than a 100MB website with file upload, this review would have never happened.Thank you for sharing your experience. I’d like to address your concerns and clarify some key points to help others reading this review better understand how All-in-One WP Migration works.
First, the plugin itself has no inherent size limitation for imports or exports. The 100MB limit you encountered is set by your hosting provider, not by the plugin. This upload limit is based on the configuration of your web server (e.g., PHP settings like upload_max_filesize and post_max_size). Unfortunately, the plugin has no way of knowing what your host’s limit is before installation, but it detects and displays the limit on the import page:
“Your host restricts uploads to X MB. Our Unlimited Extension bypasses this!”To address this limitation, the plugin provides users with two options:
1. Manually increase the upload limit. We offer a detailed, step-by-step guide to help users adjust their server settings. This is free and works perfectly for many users.
2. Purchase the Unlimited Extension. This bypasses the server’s restrictions, saving time, especially for users managing client sites with tight deadlines. We are transparent about these options, and the statement that the plugin “scams” users is simply not correct. The plugin gives users the tools they need – free or paid – to handle large site migrations.
We understand that unexpected challenges can be frustrating, and we appreciate feedback to improve user experience. However, this review seems to stem from a misunderstanding of the hosting environment’s role in setting limits.
Thank you for giving us the opportunity to clarify.
i do agree with @snightwolf, because from a client perspective it says “buy this plugin to circumvent your hosting provider” if you don’t know, you can just add some lines of code in a .htaccess file to go higher but to pay a monthly fee for that seems a bit harsh. Also any other feature that you would like to use is again after a payed monthly subscription. I tried and increased the size but i had a few GB, even set that to higher but it always crashed/errored out on me. In the end moving the files on the filesystem also failed so i gave up. Pretty sure other people are happy with it, this is just my experience. Went with the other ‘up’ plugin instead. (and i would even pay for that one since you just pay for *all* not every tiny bit)
Best Program out there. But the extension then you can export/import any size.. 300m is a demo /taste for you
I really do think it’s a scam, because I’ve actually changed the limit settings and it still hasn’t worked. I’ve even set it to 1GB when my website only weighs less than 400MB. The thing is that the same backup file worked once, but only once, after that it always tells me it’s too big and I need to buy the extension.
This plugin may only work for small websites or people who are just starting out, but I don’t think it’s good enough to deal with sites that already have some complexity. And they should fix the bug about uploads, since so far I’ve seen 3 different behaviors on newly installed WordPress:
1 – It doesn’t upload because of the limit
2 – It starts to upload, but when it reaches 100% it says it can’t because it’s too big and exceeds the limit
3 – It works at least onceI work with this plugin on a nearby daily basis for the last 8 or so years for at least a hundred different websites since then. I migrated websites up to 11GB without any problems at all (I use both the unlimited and url extensions). This awesome plugin saved me hundreds of hours at least!
