I was able to put a publish key in test mode but since change to live there is now no way to do this.

    Any ideas?

    Hi @mark-h,

If you look at the screenshot that you provided, there is a description explaining why you can’t manually enter the live keys.

When test mode is enabled you can manually enter your API keys or go through the connect process. Live mode requires that you click the Connect button.

    Hiya,

Sorry I did miss that, so there is no way to use Live mode without connecting to Stripe? I can’t connect as the client has made me a developer not administrator.

    Thanks.

    Hi @mark-h,

Stripe requires that the account owner be the one to perform the connect process. I have submitted several requests to the Stripe team to allow developer accounts to perform the connect process but for now they restrict it.

    Hiya,

Ok I will just unfortunately have to use the woo official plugin then as that will allow me to add the keys in manually for live.

    Thanks,

    Hi @mark-h,

I think your client will benefit from using the best Stripe plugin for their business. I don’t think clicking a button will or should be a deterrent.

    Hiya,

I understand that, the problem is the client isn’t a developer and pays one to set up stripe and the website for them. But it would also be bad practice to allow a developer full access to a stripe account.

Why the plugin needs full access to a stripe account for 2 keys when you can put them in manually for testing I do not understand.

@mark-h One of the reasons Stripe does not allow a developer to manually enter API keys for live mode is for security reasons.

I worked directly with the engineers at Stripe to develop this plug-in and that was of the conditions that Stripe imposed on the plugin.
