• I’m not sure if it happened after I was automatically updated to 4.1.2 at 8:23 am this morning (as I haven’t been to my admin screen in several days), but I can no longer get to my admin screen as this error comes up:

Hello. This happened to me as well. Via FTP, delete the folder for this plugin. You will then have access to the dashboard. Download and install the latest version of the plugin and all will be well.

What does this mean and how do I do this? I’m in no way a developer and someone installed the Google Analytics plug in for me. So I am completely lost and apparently it no longer works…

You need to log in and select an account in the $1options panel$2.

I’ve clicked on this link but nothing works there except for a message

Google no longer supports OAuth 1.0

I don’t know what this means. Please help?

Hi. You don’t have to be a developer to do this. All you need is access to your web hosting CPanel. Log into your CPanel, look for ‘File Manager‘ or whatever you CPanel calls it, browse to your site’s plugin directory. If you only have 1 site on your host, this should be your path: /public_html/wp-content/plugins

For the future, I would obtain (document) your FTP credentials and web host server IP address from CPanel. Then, I would download and configure FileZilla (FTP Client). It’s faster to use FileZilla than log into CPanel for file management.

There are a ton of documents that you can ‘Google’ for regarding both of the things I’ve mentioned above.

    Ryanlogan,

Then what? I can get to the CPanel and am on the phone with HostGator now…but what do I do once I get there?

    Thank you for responding!

    Nancy

Browse your files via File Manager or whatever HostGator calls it. Once you’re in there, rename the Plugins folder to Plugins-old.

Then, you should be able to access your website backend (WordPress Dashboard).

Once in the dashboard, Deactivate and DELETE the Analytics plugin.

Then, rename the Plugins-old folder back to Plugins

Then, download/install and new copy of the Google Analytics plugin.
