no WYSIG toolbar or Visual Choice for Posts

  • I just upgraded to 3.4 and when I create a new post or go in to edit an existing post, I do not get the visual editor even though I have the “disable visual editor box” unchecked. In many places on the dashboard I no longer have an option to open a dropdown menu (i.e. help or under widgets my Sidebar 2 widgets).
    Do I need to one by one disable my plugins and then switch the theme to try to figure it out? My theme is kind of old – K2 with lots of modifications made before I knew that I should have created a child theme. There are also no fly open menus along the left hand side of the dashboard when you mouse over Appearance, etc.

    I had to switch to a different theme to get all of the above working again. Now I am back to the drawing board to try understand how to get stuff to lay out the way I had it before. Oh well…
