no XML sitemaps when gzip enabled

    My WordPress install and all plugins are fully up to date, Woocommerce and corresponding plugins are also installed.

    I have been trying to figure out what has been causing my site maps to be blank in Chrome and giving “XML Parsing Error: undefined entity” error in Firefox. This happens no matter what xml sitemap plugin I use. Yoast SEO sitemap is currently enabled.

    I’ve managed to pinpoint that there is a conflict with my gzip plugin (w3 cache is not installed) and the speed contact bar plugin. If I disable gzip everything works fine but the error in Firefox points to <body><div id=”scb-wrapper”><h2>(snipped here)wp-content/plugins/speed-contact-bar/public/assets/images/phone_bright.svg(snipped)

    I tried inserting the code that I found here https://jaypeeonline.net/tips-tricks/xml-parsing-error/ to my htaccess file but it didn’t have any effect.
