I can no longer access any of the Yoast features on pages or posts.

The Yoast SEO box is showing with the title drop down headers (SEO, Readbility, Schema, Social) but nothing happens when I press any of them, essentially I just have the menu but it is not active.

I have checked all the toggles are checked to be on in my Yoast settings and turned them off and back on again, but no help.

Any advice welcome – thank you.

I am using a Salient theme on site ground hosting.

    Hello @pixiette15,

    Thanks for reaching out.

From your description, we suspect that you are experiencing a blank metabox. A?blank meta box?issue occurs due to a JavaScript conflict. So?we’d like you to please perform a conflict check. This will help us narrow down the exact cause and determine what the next steps are while saving you time.

Often, we see problems occur in combination with another plugin or theme. The fastest way to rule out any conflict, is to deactivate all non-Yoast plugins and switch to a standard theme like Twenty Twenty.

Please test this on your development or staging site, if you have one. If not, we recommend using the Health Check & Troubleshooting plugin. This plugin has a troubleshooting mode, which does not affect normal visitors to your site.

If you’re unfamiliar with checking for conflicts, we’d like to point you to a step-by-step guide that will walk you through the process: How to check for plugin conflicts

If you do not feel comfortable to do this yourself or if this does not solve your issue, our Yoast SEO Premium plugin comes with one year of (technical) support.

    I have the same problem!
Not on every post, just new ones and not everyone, just every second or so. I haven’t changed anything, apart from switching from Yoast Premium to the free version.
I am not prepared to switch theme so I prefer keeeping this as it is even if it is a bit annoying.

    Hi @kristinahsvensson

We are sorry you’re having a similar issue. Even though you are both experiencing a similar issue of a blank Yoast SEO meta box, the cause could be very well different, depending on the themes and plugins installed on your website that might be causing the conflict – https://yoast.com/help/yoastseo-meta-box-is-blank/

Please open a new request. That way it’s easier to track issues and provide assistance. Thanks!

Any other suggestions as this has not provided any info as to the problem.

None of my plugin’s conflict, web theme is the latest available, hosting on php7.4

Everything was working a couple of weeks ago but now all my yoast menu drop down options have disappeared. I have uninstalled and reinstalled yoast but this made no difference either.

    Any other suggestions welcome, thanks

    Hi Suwash

    Thanks for the suggestions ??

I’ve just tried this in Chrome instead of Safari as the browser and now the Yoast features appear when in Chrome. So I guess it’s problem with Yoast and Safari, which is nothing I can resolve at my end.

I’ll use Chrome for now and see if it changes over the next few weeks.

    Thanks again

    Hi,

We’re glad to hear that the Yoast SEO meta box is working with Google Chrome.

For the problematic browser, we still recommend checking for any JS errors, then performing a conflict check, as well as clearing all caches and cookies and possibly disabling any browser extensions.

This thread has been marked as resolved as the original poster confirmed the issue as resolved on their site.

If you are not the original poster and continue to experience a similar issue, please open a new request. That way it’s easier for us to match replies with a specific problem. Thanks!
