hi there, not sure if the nobody field visibility is working or wether ive not understood its purpose correctly.

i have a field set to nobody but as a user, i can still see the nobody field on my profile – seems wrong.

basically, i would like a field against a user that the user cannot see or edit – but the admin users can go against the users profile in backend and make some notes against the user. ideally, i want the admins to them be able to search this field using the xprofile search plugin too.

    please advise/assist.
    thanks again craig

has anyone else had this issue? resolved it?

or come up with an alternative method for an administrator to add notes against a member that only admins can see?

    kinda urgent! best wishes Craig

    Hi,

This visibility setting was created when a user wants to hide a field to the rest of members of buddypress, something like hiding his phone number…

If you need to hide a field, try to do it inside the template of edit profile form.

Hi donmik, again! thanks for help.

i can say that i am definately using bp 2.0 and it definately shows a field visibility option of “none” – which is what has confused me because ive seen info on web sayings its going. very odd.

if anyone else finds this thread and wants to similar answer to myself, see here: https://buddypress.org/support/topic/nobody-visibility/

    thank you for help
