nofollow in RSS feed

Hello.
Why did you put “nofollow” in the back links to a website in RSS Feed?
In the description you said: By automatically adding a link to your RSS feed pointing back to the original article, you’re telling the search engine where they should be looking for the original.
How do the Googlebot can understand that arcticle is original if there is “nofollow” in the link?
