Please bear in mind that Yoast SEO don’t add noindex tags to RSS feeds, but we add nofollow tags to links on them, as these are low-value links that can harm your SEO. This prevents bots from low-quality sites or malicious sites from following the links on RSS feeds and by following your links, your SEO could be damaged too. Therefore, we automatically add that nofollow tag to it because you likely don’t want links from those websites pointing to yours.

Please know that this does not impact Google or other search engines, as the tag is not added to the posts, but only to the links on the RSS feed, so Google can crawl the posts by navigating through your site as they normally do.

We hope to have cleared things up for you, please don’t hesitate to let us know if you have any further questions.

    Hi @webexs

It’s automatically added by our Yoast SEO plugin along with the RSS variables, so unless you remove the text in the ‘content to put before each post in the feed’ and the ‘content to put after each post in the feed’, it will add the ‘nofollow’ variable.

@mikes41720 Is it a bad ide to disable the plugin for like 10 min when im sending the newsletter once a week?

    Hi @webexs

While we don’t expect any major issues if you were to temporarily disable the plugin for a few minutes at a time, please do understand that the metadata such as the open graph tags, schema, canonical, and other data (sitemaps, etc.) wouldn’t output if the plugin was disabled.
