Non-canonical page in sitemap – Images have /#main at the end of url

    Hello,

    I am encountering an issue flagged by Ahrefs with the message: “Non-canonical page in sitemap.”

    After investigating, it seems the problem is caused by URLs of images that include #main at the end (e.g., example.com/page/#main). These URLs appear in the sitemap generated by the Yoast SEO plugin.

    I would like to understand the following:

    1. Why are these #main URLs being included in the sitemap?
    2. Are these URLs necessary, or should they be excluded?
    3. What steps can I take to resolve this issue and ensure that only canonical pages are listed in the sitemap, without negatively affecting my rankings or SEO performance?
