    Hi there!

I am using the free version of the GDPR Cookie Consent Plugin for my cookie notice pop-up. Besides the necessary cookies, I inserted the Google Analytics tracking code into the “Analytics” category and registered all the cookies it creates in the cookie list, assigning the “Analytics” category to them. I tested if the pop-up is working and disabling the Google Analytics cookies when the user rejects them, but this does not seem to be the case. I found that I’m not alone with this problem, but reading through those posts didn’t help me, unfortunately. Does anybody have an idea where the problem might be? I connected Google Analytics to my site using their Site Kit plugin and have deleted all other Analytics Plugins and cleared the cache of my site. I once installed Google Tag Manager on my site, but have deleted it in the meantime. Thank you very much for your help in advance!

    Hi @ojg9,

From what we gather from your explanation, you have added the tracking script via the Analytics category head script section and also have analytics tracking via site kit plugin, which is causing the issue. In order to manage cookies using this plugin, you must only add the scripts via the plugin itself. You cannot use other implementations like site kit.

    Hi!

Thank you for your fast response. You were right, I deleted the Site Kit Plugin, deactivated the GDPR plugin, cleared the cache, logged out of WordPress, signed back in again, reactivated the GDPR plugin and now everything is working as it should. Thanks again!
