Hi guys, I was just alerted today by a customer that she cannot enter her card details on my shop through Square. (no wonder everyone is paying through PayPal now) I went looking for problems and noticed the field is no longer accepting anything (where they enter their details) So I spent a few hours playing around uninstalling clearing caches and opening closing incognito windows while drinking copious amounts of beer.

Now I’m totally lost as usual so before I go turning off all my plugins and pulling my hair out with error logs does anyone know if there’s a recent problem? I’ve had problems before and usually disconnecting and reconnecting Square through Woo fixes it.

But not today, it’s my busiest few weeks of the year so would be great to be able to accept card payments through the shop. I might try Stripe if I can’t get this working again but it was all fine a month ago. I guess I need to re-enable the debug log? Kept getting prompted to turn it off so I did. I did notice a Nonce? message at one stage though. Most of the time it just tells me nothing.

The page I need help with: [log in to see the link]

    Hi @ausworkshop

Sorry to hear of the issues with accepting payments using Square.

Understandably this is the most busy time of the year for most businesses, so let’s see what we can do to get this resolved for you!

I took a look at the checkout and was not able to enter CC details in the Square iFrame. I also saw the following:

    Uncaught ReferenceError:WC_Square_Payment_Form_Handler is not defined

Can you please try switching to a default WordPress theme, such as Storefront, to see if the problem still exists?

If the problem goes away, you’ll want to contact your theme developer about the issue.

Please let us know how that goes.

Thanks Amanda. Unfortunately I am my own theme developer these days I just kind of got it all running myself from a very basic framework. WooCommerce came later and I’ve just learnt as I go along but don’t have the time to learn it well.

I do have Storefront. But in the end I just uninstalled Square and went with Stripe instead and it’s now working so I’m not messing with it now sorry but if I ever find out what caused it I’ll get back to you. I still use Square for most of my other business and invoices just not on my cart now.

Thanks for letting us know that you have chosen to go with Stripe for payments (it’s a solid gateway to use!)

I’ll mark this thread as resolved now. If you have any further questions, I recommend creating a new thread.

That is a lame support response, applaud someone for switching to a different payment processor? I’m sure Square would be glad to hear that. I’m having the same problem with approximately 6 websites. The problem appears to have occurred as a result of the last upgrade of the square plugin.

Hi Suzi, I must admit I thought it was a bit strange. All I know is this stuff wastes so much of my time these days. 15 years trying to run a website and I never seem to get any better. More things break now than ever. I’m left scratching my head trying to work out if it’s something I can even fix or if it’s worth spending hours reading in forums when I seem to be the only one with the problem. Never know who to ask for help. Paranoid I’m missing out on potential sales, it will just break again at random if I don’t test it everyday in the live environment. I have enough things slowing me down without problems accepting payments through a simple shopping cart. It’s 2019, not exactly new technology yet it is very unreliable and frustrating for a small one man business who don’t have tech departments or in house geeks to turn to.
