Nonindex and crawl errors
-
Hello,
I installed the plugin about a week ago. I received an email from Google saying That the website has “coverage issues”. It lists two problems:
1- Submitted URL marked ‘noindex’
2- Submitted URL has crawl issue
How to fix this? Thanks

I am a newbie and have no idea which pages are being non indexed or what url has crawl issues. The website is new and i had yoast before when found out about your plugin. Did follow all instruction on migrating and also had to change the old yoast page titles.
Hello!
Google probably found some (duplicated) pages TSF now deindexes, which were previously appointed. This causes a discrepancy in their results.
For example, they indexed your old sitemap two weeks ago, and still use that for evaluation. Now, via a random crawl of your pages, they found a page that was in the sitemap previously, but which is now marked with “noindex.” As such, they mark it as an issue.
You can inspect Google’s granule evaluation when you click through on the error in Search Console.
These issues should resolve automatically over time as Google reparses your whole site.
For more information, see: https://www.google.com/search/howsearchworks/crawling-indexing/But, if you’re still seeing them in a week, kindly share your website’s URL with us, and maybe one or two links to the affected pages. You can hide your URL from bots when you enter it when opening a new topic here. Alternatively, share with me the affected URLs via our contact form.
What I am worried about is that you disabled indexing globally. So, do check the SEO Bar for issues. If you spot any red or blue I’s, which stand for “Index,” hover your mouse over it (or tap it); the tooltip may point you in the right direction.
I hope this helps. Good luck with your new site! Cheers ??
Hello,
When you say “So, do check the SEO Bar for issues. If you spot any red or blue I’s, which stand for “Index,” hover your mouse over it (or tap it); the tooltip may point you in the right direction.”, where am i gong to do that check? In the Google search console or your plugin pages settings? Thanks
If you meant your plugin’s colors associated with each page then there are no red or blue’s, all I’s are green.
Hey, cj! Hope you are having a good weekend and TSF is not much trouble ?? We are trying to make it as beginner friendly as possible, so do not hesitate to post your feedback here.
If you meant your plugin’s colors associated with each page then there are no red or blue’s, all I’s are green.
That is how it should be. Green means you are giving Google good SEO metadata with all greens. ??
Now to elaborate on Sybre’s answer:
But, if you’re still seeing them in a week, kindly share your website’s URL with us, and maybe one or two links to the affected pages. You can hide your URL from bots when you enter it when opening a new topic here. Alternatively, share with me the affected URLs via our contact form.
I believe he meant that if you login to Search Console in a week, and you STILL see errors there, you should consider giving us URL of your website so we can check if there are any issues.
Cheers,

Thank you. I am observing and will let you know in few days.I have not received any more notices and have started the validation with Google and from what i understand it can take anywhere form few days to a week or so. Will let you know if there are nay problems. Thanks.
I have had a sleepless night after experiencing another problem. Last night i couldn’t access the posts, pages , comments, topics, replies from admin dashboard. First noticed that posts tab was empty in spite of having 9 posts on the front end. Then found out that all the tabs mentioned were being redirected to the mepty posts tab. So for 12 hours i didn’t have access let alone editing ability for 15 pages, 9 posts, 80 comments and replies and some of them were coming in during this time.
Wordpress sent me an email this morning that the problem is in your autodescription folder. Here is the error details:
An error of type E_COMPILE_ERROR was caused in line 148 of the file /home/******/public_html/wp-content/plugins/autodescription/bootstrap/load.php. Error message: require(): Failed opening required ‘/home/******/public_html/wp-content/plugins/autodescription/inc/classes/load.class.php’ (include_path=’.:/opt/alt/php72/usr/share/pear’) ”
What is going on and what to do if this happens again? How to fix this?
Hi @cj74
The error you described may occur when you upload files via an FTP client. I get tons of these errors during development, but they shouldn’t reoccur.
For example, many FTP clients first delete all files as you upload new ones, and when something or someone tries to access your site, the error spawns as some files are still being uploaded.
When such an error occurs, you won’t be able to view anything on your site; you’ll only see blank pages. So, the email you got is unrelated to the missing posts and the inability to edit pages, posts, and comments.
I think this happened as you restored your website and re-uploaded files. The SEO Framework isn’t a small plugin, so uploading its files takes longer than many other plugins, increasing the time for such an error to occur.
I also think you experienced an issue with the storage device your website’s database is hosted from. Such an issue would explain the corruption you’ve experienced on your site!
I recommend reaching out to your hosting partner ASAP, explaining all the details. Feel free to point them to this comment. Do make a(nother) backup if you haven’t already.
Best of luck!
Hello @cybr
Thank you for explaining what is going on!
And thanks you for a great plugin, i can see my website moving up in the google search. Should i check box these two?
1- Display the SEO Bar in the SEO Settings metabox?
2-Enable automated Schema.org output cache?Thanks
Cheers! And thank you for your kind review! ??
Those two options are entirely optional and don’t affect SEO.
- This allows you to view the SEO Bar when editing posts or terms. Note that it currently doesn’t actively reflect your changes, but real-time updating support is planned for 3.4.
- I’m planning on removing this feature, because the transient storage speed is about the same as the script generation speed. Any percieved benefit you get from using this option is neglegible.
Hi, what is the best way to delete the plugin and all the data/cache and reinstall it fresh. I want the old information from yoast gone and want to start over. Also is there a good video on youtube that you would recommend that deals with the setting up of the plugin?
Hello again ??
For cleaning up the post meta, you may want to look into a plugin like this one, but I don’t know if it’s the best way forward. In any case, these are the post meta keys we maintain as of v3.2.4 and v3.3.
For cleaning up the global SEO Settings, we put a “Reset” button at the top (and bottom) of the settings page.
We have a tutorial for setting up the plugin right here; it’s (hopefully) pretty straightforward, and I keep it up-to-date with the latest version: https://tsf.fyi/docs/setup
We don’t post video tutorials because they require a lot of time to set up and to keep up-to-date. I rather focus that time on improving the plugin interface instead, so to make tutorials redundant ??
If this still leaves you with questions, let me know! Cheers!
Hello,
Last few days has been interesting, long story short the website was hosted for 3 days and i now have a new hosting provider since yesterday, but the problem is that the site was in the first and second page of google if anyone did some of the keywords search and now it is nowhere to be found in the first 10 pages. What is going on? Thank you.
I also just finished deleting, cleaning and reinstalling the plugin like i said i would.
Thanks
Also the sitemap from last time is still up. i did not change it. Let me know if that has to be replaced and how to do it. Thanks again.
