noob question
-
Sorry in advance, i am VERY new at CSS. I use a normal child theme for my website, and the original theme has a bunch of .php files, some of which i’ve modified through my child theme. The theme has a pro-version that uses a child theme, and so now I can’t use my own child theme to edit the pro theme (it refuses to give me certain options built into the pro theme if i try to make a child theme for the child-pro theme). So it was suggested that I use a program like My Custom CSS.
I took one of the .php files I edited (the entire text of the footer.php file, not just the piece i edited) and pasted it into the My Custom CSS plugin as a trial-and-error approach, and absolutely nothing changed. I’ve tried other plugins and some of them even give me errors. So my question is, what do i have to do differently to edit on this as opposed to using a child theme?
I have very little coding and programming experience, so I don’t even know what to try, otherwise I would have spent hours just punching stuff in until it worked instead of wasting someone else’s time with a stupid question. Any help would be incredibly appreciated
