• Been struggling for days, got the paid version, and it is generating a mosaic gallery, and has got good admin options, setting the margins, colours and some other options ok. Cool if you just need a mosaic gallery.

But.. as earlier mentioned, there is little control on the placement or size of the photos, this seems very random. And to get more control I was advised to set the grid higher, which (should) force a horizontal line.
But this crops images not by ‘a few pixels’, but very severely, more than 50% in some.
And as I need control over photos and placements this was very frustrating, and I spent really many days trying.

Second minus point, videos do not play in the lightbox, but from the page. Not cool. And it says in the documentation that you can attach other lighboxes by setting the photo to ‘media file’, but then the image opens in a blank window only.

Too much of a struggle, uninstalled in the end. As said, not all is bad, but too many disadvantages for me, not the right plugin.

  • Thanks for your opinion. Just some clarification:

    this seems very random

Absolutely false, there’s nothing random with this gallery. You can read about how this plugin works reading the documentation here: https://issuu.com/greentreelabs/docs/finaltilesgridgallery-documentation

There’s also a video tutorial about how to get better grids: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RNT4JGjtyrs

But this crops images not by ‘a few pixels’, but very severely, more than 50% in some.

It depends by your settings. You can set exactly how many pixels the plugin can crop.

it says in the documentation that you can attach other lighboxes by setting the photo to ‘media file’, but then the image opens in a blank window only.

I reaffirm that, what lightbox were you using? Are you sure you configured your lightbox correctly? Probably not. Most lightboxes automatically catch all linked images, that’s why I say you just need to set a link on the images.

Well, I did explain my struggles, contacted support, and gave a full admin to show me.
And I DID read all docs, and watched the video.
Sorry, but have been really wasted days.

No problem at all. Currently this plugin was bought by more than 2,400 people and it’s rated 4,48/5 so it’s clearly a matter of personal tastes.
