• I have a blog https://mushroompalace.com
    I experience the following problem:
None of my plugins send e-mails. For example the plugins “Reply me”, “contact form 7” and “Comment Reply Notification”. I tested all of these.

I then lost my wordpress password and tried getting it back by clicking “Lost your password?” on the login screen. I got this error: “The e-mail could not be sent.
Possible reason: your host may have disabled the mail() function…”

I’m hosted with Godaddy and this is what they said when I contacted them about this:

“Thank you for contacting Online Support. I apologize for any confusion this is an option you have to change on your WordPress configurations. I have provided a link that may help you with this.

    https://codex.www.ads-software.com/Function_Reference/wp_mail

I would recommend using your favorite search engine for more information on this.”

I do not understand what this codex means. Can anyone specifically tell me what I have to do to fix this very irritating problem?

this appears to be a GoDaddy problem not a WordPress problem. The link they gave is of no use for this issue whatsoever to help fix this issue. If the server is setup properly and you entered the correct email address into your profile, you should receive email from WordPress. On all the hosting companies I have used it has just worked.

The line “I would recommend using your favorite search engine for more information on this.” Tells a lot about the quality of support you received.

To recover your password without using email, there are a few options here: https://codex.www.ads-software.com/Resetting_Your_Password

I don’t use godaddy, I can’t vouch for whether it works or not, but this article might help you get the email working: https://www.expertcore.org/viewtopic.php?f=74&t=1079

Agreed. There have been major problems trying to get contact form plugins to work on GoDaddy sites recently.

Cubecolour, the plugin you suggested fixed everything, Godaddy was right, it is a wordpress issue.
But thank! If I had money I’d give you everything!
    I’m so unbelievably thankful!

    Your a lifesaver!

It is a GoDaddy issue. The plugin is a workaround.

    Oh well, damn you Godaddy!

The cheapness is the only thing keeping me from leaving them
