Norton Safe Web verify site ownership problems

  • I’m trying to verify site ownership through Norton Safe Web. They instruct me to put an authentication file in my root directory and then click “Verify site ownership”. This fails every time. I have tried putting the verification file in the root and theme directories with no luck. Anyone figured this out yet? I’m sure there is a simple answer.

    Silly me. I forgot to delete the txt off the end of the file after uploading it. Now my sites are verified.

    Hoosierstu, If possible can you tell me the steps you took to allow you to enter the Norton Verification? Did you do it through the themes? I am relatively new at this and if you can help it will be greatly appreciated. Thanks Steve
