I just installed this plugin a few minutes ago as a replacement for another XML sitemap plugin after researching reviews. I’m sorely disappointed.

First, when I go into the plugin settings, there’s a warning stating that my site is currently blocking search engines. I used the link provided (Reading Settings) and there’s no option checked to block search engines from my site.

Second, when I attempted to save a setting change, I’m asked to fillout the Google Analytics TID field. I don’t use Google Analytics, so I don’t have a Google Analytics TID. I’m unable to save the setting change without providing something in the field.

I’m using WordPress 6.0 if that matters. I went back to the plugin I was previously using.

  • Hi

    I had the same issues.
My website is not blocked. Not a great start

@ann47he1rpjggx6f3yso @kpjjf: apologies for the bad first impression! We have released a new version of the plugin, please upgrade. We plan to actively release the newer versions periodically.

@auctollo I have installed the newest version, but the Google Analytics tid is still required for submitting the sitemap to Google. This was not the case in the sitemap plugin I used before. It may be a good option to have, but it is definitely a bad requirement.

@ulim: We have been asked by the WordPress community to remove the previous hardcoded TID and use it as an input field. It is right now non-mandatory to add it but in order to ping Google, we have kept it mandatory thinking that people will not accidentally ping Google in their development or stage environments.

We will observe the feedback and make the Google ping function as anonymous if the community if that makes sense? Thanks for using our plugin!

    Hello

just installed the plugin, I see the top box “Search engines haven’t been notified yet” (actually not accurate, my sitemap_index.xml is already registered into GSC).

If I click onto the link “your sitemap” in order to notify the sitemap uploading, I receive the alert on top: “Please add Google analytics tid in order to notify Google bots.” I have the TID but no useful field appears at that stage.

Did I miss something? May you please advise the steps that I have to follow in order to speed up the process?

    Thank you in advance.

Same question as @snicolosio . Where should I add the Google Analytics tid?

@snicolosio Thanks for contacting us. We have been asked by the WordPress community to remove the previous hardcoded TID and use it as an input field. It is right now non-mandatory to add it but to ping Google, we have kept it mandatory thinking that people will not accidentally ping Google in their development or stage environments. We will observe the feedback and make the Google ping function anonymous if the community wants it like that. Thanks for participating in the contribution. The new version deployment is on the cards, once you update to the latest version, the issue will be fixed.

@algopoco there is the field on the plugin settings page to add Google Analytics TID.
