Today we start to have the same problem, several others have.
All entries on the dashboard show the error message “he response is not a valid JSON response”

We disabled any third-party stuff, using the troubleshooting-plugin. that didn’t solve the problem.

All other servicescon that website and on the server are running well.

    What to do?

Hi @alexprepo , Thanks for opening a support topic. This error (The response is not a valid JSON response) is a generic WordPress error, which can appear outside of the Site Kit dashboards, please share the following and we can investigate this further:

    1. Your Site Health information. You can use this form to share privately if preferred. Please also share your hosting provider here.
    2. When checking the Site Kit dashboard from a Chrome browser incognito window do you see any browser console errors where this error appears? If so please share any such errors.
    3. Do you see any warnings or errors when checking your Site Health status (Tools > Site Health > Status), which differs from your Site Health information requested above? Such errors may include REST endpoint references.

Once we have this information we can provide some troubleshooting suggestions, which may include checking for third party plugin conflicts or checking for any blocks at host level.

@alexprepo Could you please try to share the information once more as it doesn’t appear to have all come through. Make sure to copy the site health info to clipboard and paste into the Site Health Information* question on the form.

Could you also share the information requested in points 2 and 3 also? Thanks.

@alexprepo Thanks for sharing. Could you first try following the troubleshooting steps here to see fi this clears the error.

After this could you also try going to this link which will create a temporary WordPress site for you with Site Kit pre-installed and set up Site Kit on this site. Let me know if you see the same errors on this site.

    About No. 1:
As said before, I already tried to run the site with that safe mode plugin. it’s the same problem.

    Abount No.2:
On that demo site everythings works. Same as on several other sites we operate – even on the same server ..

@alexprepo From the messages you’ve shared from your Site Health Info tab it looks like REST API calls may be getting blocked which would result in this message you are seeing.

As you can set up the plugin on the disposable site it looks like this is likely due to the configuration of the server you’re running which makes this difficult for us to troubleshoot. Could you ensure nothing on the server side is blocking this and ensure all Site Health Info critical errors are resolved. If they are and you still encounter the issue then let us know and we can take another look at this for you.

Other sites on the same server are running your plugin.

I can even not delete the plugin through the frontend of wp. it says, it couldnt be deleted as long at is is active. of course it was deactivated before ..

    maybe that’s a hint?

@alexprepo The error you are encountering is a generic WordPress error and not related to Site Kit although can affect how Site Kit works for you. Could I check with you if you get the same message when trying to save or publish a post on your site?

You may also find some useful information on this particular error message on this forum topic from the fixing WordPress forum.

As we didn’t receive a response I’ll mark this as resolved. Feel free to open a new support topic if you continue to encounter issues, or reopen this topic and we’d be happy to assist.
