I’ve been trying activate Jetpack on several of my sites on the page with the WordPress.com or Google button. But it goes to WordPress.com to authenticate and then comes right back to the same page. I’ve looked at the the Troubleshooting page and just can’t figure out what’s causing it. I have deactivated other plugins and I have uninstalled and installed. It seems like there’s always issues with JP and I’m spending too much time trying to get this to work.

    Hi there!

It seems that your site is connected to Jetpack, however, we’re being blocked from accessing https://cordlessmassagegun.com/xmlrpc.php which Jetpack requires to function.

Unfortunately, blocking XML-RPC is not a great solution for fighting security risks. It’s akin to selling your car because you don’t want it to be stolen.

Your site’s XML-RPC file is kind of like a communication gateway to your site. Jetpack, the WordPress Mobile Apps, and other plugins and services will use this file to communicate to your site. If this is blocked, you will have other issues pop-up down the road for the same reasons.

If you are using any security plugins, please try connecting with those temporarily deactivated. If you don’t have any, or if that didn’t work, I would suggest contacting your hosting provider and asking them to unblock your site’s XML-RPC. The most popular hosting providers out there have managed to find other ways to protect their servers without having to hinder your site and your ability to use services with your WordPress site.

I’m having a very similar issue. Debug wont work. I’ve tried disabling all my other plugins.

Seems like kind of a ridiculous problem to have, when jetpack being activated is pretty much REQUIRED for anything on wordpress to work. My entire E-commerce store is currently inoperable because of these errors.

I had disabled the security plugin which is Wordfence and the host isn’t blocking anything. It’s been working on my sites for months and now all the sudden I can’t connect it to WordPress.com. I gave up for now and installed Google Site Kit.

There is clearly a problem with the XML RPC endpoint on your site. Jetpack requires access to the XML RPC file as found here:
    https://cordlessmassagegun.com/xmlrpc.php
At the moment, it’s returning a 403 / Forbidden error, while it should look like this example:
    https://jetpack.com/xmlrpc.php

As I mentioned above, problems accessing XML RPC could be due to another plugin, a security module, or a block on your server. If you have already contacted your host to see whether they block XML RPC and their reply was negative, try temporarily disabling all the plugins except for Jetpack. If the error disappears, try enabling them one by one and testing the connection after each.
