  • If I understand correctly, when you visit your admin login page you are not able to login with correct credentials? What happens?

I had a problem where after entering correct credentials I would be redirected to homepage, not being able to access admin. If that’s what you’re having, check out this thread. Also, scroll through pages, there are few more fixes included.

When i enter https://www.indiadime.com/wp-admin/ as mentioned in the topic in your reply, i am getting 404 error.

Before upgrading to itheme security version, I was using a admin slug and that is also not working, then i checked the topics similar to this, and found i need to use https://www.indiadime.com/wp-admin will help me.

My bad, that one is also failing with 404 error. It is nothing to do with login credential, I am not getting the login page itself.

    Ok I understand now.

If that doesn’t help, going through and removing database tables and options should make everything as if plugin never was installed.

Renaming “better-wp-security” folder through cpanel/ftp will manually deactivate plugin and you will be able to get to login page wp-login.php

Thanks for your reply, I could not see the itsec_options table, I have only 3 tables, itsec_log, itsec_lockout, itsec_temp. It looks like the missing options table is causing the issue.

On my other sites, after upgrade from the dashboard, i did click the secure site button again, those sites are working fine.

Only few sites, those are updated via managewp interface, i mean, from managewp website, not from the site’s dashboard.

So, it seems, if you are not clicking the secure site option again once you upgrade, we will get into trouble.

I will remove the tables, rename the plugin and i will see whether i am getting the login page.

Thanks once again for your help.

The options should be in your wp_options table, wp_ might be something else if you changed your prefix.

There’s a lot of options inside this table, so I recommend sorting them alphabetically by clicking the options name column header, and checking all tables that start with “i”.

Thanks a lot, found the itheme security fields in options table, after editing that hide-backend option to disabled, i am able to get the login page.

After logged in, I enabled the hide-backend option again in the settings page, then, it was working fine.

BTW, Are you the plugin author?

Do you have any clue what was the issue, was it really an issue with upgrade?
