I can restore all backups except the upload folders, which at one point crashes at folder 55 (which is also the largest and weighs about 2.8 GB). Can you help me find a solution? Uploading manually via FTP is quite complicated because there are as many as 77 folders with their subfolders.

  • Hello,

Would it be possible for you to share the restoration log via pastebin.com please? You can find it in the wp-content / updraft folder. It will have a filename in this format >> log.4f9343ee80d5 and it will have the word “restore” in its contents.

Regarding manually uploading via FTP, if you create an uploads directory on your desktop and then extract the zip files on top of one another into this directory it should create the correct structure. You can then rename the existing uploads directory on your webserver and transfer everything in one go.

    Here is the LOG.

If I were to create an uploads directory on the desktop, it should contain only the upload folders from the updraft backup or all the folders from the backup. Next, what do you mean by extracting the zipper files on top of each other? Do I highlight all the folders and extract (I use Mac)? I’m not sure it creates the same structure because I have the ewww plugin that arranges the image files with its own logic.

    Hello,

Thank you for the log file. I suggest increasing the max_execution_time and memory_limit directives to 600 seconds and 512 MB, respectively. Your host or server administrator should be able to do this.

Regarding the uploads, I apologise for not being clearer earlier. Specifically, I am referring to the backup files with filenames like uploads.zip, uploads2.zip, uploads3.zip, etc.

To answer your question: yes, highlight and extract all these zip files into the same location. The uploads zip files should already have the correct structure, as UpdraftPlus does not alter it. Therefore, whatever the structure is on your web server, the same structure should be present after extraction. After extracting, verify the new uploads directory manually by browsing its contents.

    Dear Sir,

The hosting increased my memory_limit, but could not do anything about the max_execution_time as they could not take it beyond 300 seconds for these reasons ““That is not going to be possible I’m afraid, as there is a hard limit of 300 max execution time when using the shared hosting platform, as we’ve found that if it would need to run for longer than 5 minutes, it is likely un-optimized, and that would require a self-managed VPS.
I have tried everything, including manual uploads via FTP after manually extracting the backup upload folders. I am not sure if I did this correctly. When I select and extract the upload.zip, uploads2.zip, etc. folders, the result is that I have a folder that contains all the extracted folders as they were when they were zipped. Maybe I am doing something wrong in the unzip process? What should the end result be? Should I have a folder containing individual files?
There has to be a way to solve this problem. The store has been down for 3 days. Thanks for your kind support.

You will have to move the files/folders out of the Upload, Uploads2 etc. All the files/folders that are contained within the folders should be moved into the wp-content/uploads directory

If you are able to reducing the archive split down to 25 would help. You can do this under Settings >> show expert settings >> split archives every
