    Hi,

I have manually updated wordpress yesterday from 3.4.2 to 3.6.1

All other plugins I am able to update and I have updated except Jetpack.
I really like this plugin, and I want it on my blog.

    What to do ?

Should I delete plug in and then install a direct new Version ?
If I do so, Will My States and Subscribers remain as it is ?

    Pl guild me..

    Jetpack Mechanic ??

Could you try to log in to your site via FTP, delete the existing Jetpack plugin, and reinstall it manually as explained here:
    https://codex.www.ads-software.com/Managing_Plugins#Manual_Plugin_Installation

Your data will be back under your account as soon as you reconnect the updated version of Jetpack to your WordPress.com account.

Let me know if it helps.

Thanks a lot Jeremy for your reply.

I am new to this forum, so I though it would be better if I create new topic for different Issues I am facing.

Anyways I have installed V2.5 using FTP as you have mentioned.

For the Same matter I have contacted Godaddy Support and I got reply which I want to share here –

    Thank you for your reply.

I understand that you are writing in about a 500 internal server error that you are receiving when trying to upgrade your Jetpack plugin.

Jetpack will not work on our Windows hosting accounts. The only workaround to get Jetpack to function and resolve the issues you are experiencing is to switch to Linux or purchase a separate Linux account for your WordPress sites. We apologize for any inconvenience that you have experienced.

Please let us know if we can assist you in any other way.

    However,

I have a issue right now, I am not able to connect jetpack to wordpess.com

Here is the error I am getting –

“Your website needs to be publicly accessible to use Jetpack: site_inaccessible Error Details: The Jetpack server was unable to communicate with your site https://www.ebrahmins.co.in/blog [IXR -32300: transport error: http_request_failed Operation timed out after 15331 milliseconds with 0 out of -1 bytes received]”

    My WordPress URL is https://www.eBrahmins.co.in/blog

I have ready mostly all the topics related to this error. I have tried —

    1. Deactivate All the other Plugins and tried
    2. Then I activated a Twenty Twelve and tried
    3. I installed plugin jetpack Compatibility Test and send the output to the support@jetpack

Now wondering what to do to see jetpack running on my blog. I love jetpack I dont want to loose it.

My constraint My limit is –
I cannot move from Windows to Linux as I have a other pages in asp.net.
and I cannot afford to buy 2 hosting plans

Actually it should not be a problem with windows hosting as It was working well before I upgrade WordPress.

    Facts to be consider are
    1. I connected Jetpack on Big Rock Hosting very 1st time.
then I changed my hosting provider to Godaddy.
When I move my code I never deactivated the plugins. I have just copy – paste the code and restored the database. So On Godaddy I got the active jetpack.

    2. I changed the Worpdress URL (Settings > General )
    from https://www.blog.ebrahmins.co.in to https://www.eBrahmins.co.in/blog

    Here I have explained whatever I know , I understand, I experienced

WordPress and Jetpack can and do work on Windows servers. Unfortunately, GoDaddy made some changes in their Windows server configuration a few months ago that caused the issues you’re experiencing right now.

GoDaddy is aware of the issue, and as you mentioned they suggest everyone experiencing this issue to switch to a Linux server. You can see related threads here:

Unfortunately, there is no other solution right now. If you cannot switch from Windows to Linux, I’m afraid you will have to give up on Jetpack, or look for a new hosting provider.
