We’ve been using Videopress for 6-12 months on greensmoothiegirl.com. During this time, some of our staff noticed that uploading videos added them to the media library instead of the Videopress CDN. I would sometimes get this message when attempting to upload a video in the media library, “VideoPress uploads are not supported here. To upload to VideoPress, add your videos from the Media Library or the block editor using the Video block.”

But I would simply click the link in that message to go to the media library and proceed with the upload for VideoPress.

Today, however, I’m finding myself in an infinite loop, where I click the button at the top of the media library page to “Add New Media File”, which takes me to /wp-admin/media-new.php, where the above-cited message appears. Then I click the link in the message to return to /wp-admin/upload.php and try again, in an endless loop. So I can’t upload a video to the VideoPress CDN from the media library.

The only way I can add a video is by logging into WordPress.com and adding it to the media library there.

Also, we use Beaver Builder, not the WP block editor, so I can’t make use of the VideoPress block as a means to upload new videos.

I’m thinking now that my colleagues were having this same problem and didn’t realize it.

    What is the solution?
