Not able to use Insert Link in Visual Editor

  • Not sure if this is related to others having issues with formatting, but I’m able to make text bold however I’m not able to use the “insert link” on the visual tab. I have to switch the text tab to do it.

    There’s no indication that a link was added, except for at the very bottom breadcrumb area stating that there is an anchor tag … however no pop-up is shown and I believe this issue is related to this plugin since I’ve deactivated other plugins and I do not have cache at the moment.

    I’ve tested the Classic Editor and can add links to texts and images on the Visual tab. Additionally, there are no existing reports regarding issues with links. Could you please try testing it again?

    I tried again, all plugins are up to date. I deactivated all plugins except Classic Editor and the issue persists.

    Hi, @guyhaines ???? The visual link inserter works for me as well, on macOS Sonoma in Safari and Chrome (here’s a quick Playground test link for Classic Editor). Could you share what OS/browser you’re having trouble with, and whether you’ve tried other combinations? Thanks!

    MacOS Sonoma 14.5 … Brave, Safari, Chrome … they all do it :-/

    The Ned Flanders quote is quite appropriate! Are you able to change the theme or spin up a copy of the site in a staging environment? Are there any other sites with the same host or client that this happens to?

    We’ll leave this topic open for more reproduction testing, and perhaps someone else with the same issue may discover additional info to share.
